Sandler plays Dave Buznik, a timid businessman who finds himself wrongly sentenced to an anger management program after a bizarre misunderstanding on an airplane. His assigned counselor, the unpredictable Dr. Buddy Rydell (Nicholson), uses increasingly bizarre and aggressive methods to help Dave confront his bottled-up emotions. As Buddy inserts himself into every aspect of Dave’s life, from his job to his relationship, Dave must navigate a chaotic series of humiliations, confrontations, and wild therapy sessions that may finally help him stand up for himself.
